Social Design verfolgt häufig nicht leicht lesbare Ziele. Wenn Bänke oder Interventionen gebaut werden geht es oft um mehr. Menschen, deren Beziehungen, systemische Probleme, Ungerechtigkeiten. Die Social Design Operation Protocols sollen Praktiker*innen im Feld Zugang zu den Arbeitsprozessen anderer Initiativen, Gruppen, Kollektive und Verbünde geben und die Praxis des sozialen Gestaltens als möglich und sinnstiftend beschreiben.
